Solutions / Road Transport

FTL and PTL freight, on national-permit corridors.

Full and part loads moved between plants, ports, warehouses and regional distribution centres on a fleet calibrated for industrial and FMCG cargo.

Road transport

The heavy end of Indian road freight, handled end-to-end.

BKT’s road transport business is built around one job: moving full and part loads between plants, ports, warehouses and regional distribution centres on time, in full, with clean paperwork. We run national-permit corridors connecting every major industrial belt in the country, with branches positioned to source iron at origin and clear it at destination.

The fleet is calibrated for what enterprise shippers actually move — payloads from 9 to 42 tons across closed-body containers and open-body trailers, with vehicle dimensions ranging 17 to 42 feet. Multi-axle long-haulers handle primary movement; mid-range and lighter vehicles handle distribution. Each load is matched to the right asset and the right corridor by the branch closest to the origin, not by a faceless central desk.

Beyond the truck itself, customers buy our operating discipline: same-day pickup confirmations, lane visibility, audited documentation and a single point of contact who stays accountable from order to POD.

FTL vs PTL

Two ways to move the load — priced and run differently.

Whether the cargo fills a full vehicle or rides alongside other consignors, the operating model, transit profile and cost structure change. Here is how each one is built at BKT.

Full Truck Load

FTL — when the load fills the truck

One shipper, one truck, one consignee.

Primary movement out of plants, port-to-warehouse runs and time-bound campaigns where the entire vehicle is dedicated to a single shipment.

  • Direct door-to-door pickup and delivery, no intermediate handling
  • Faster transit and tighter ETAs than consolidated freight
  • Closed-body containers and open-body trailers, 9 to 42 tons
  • Vehicle dimensions 17 to 42 ft to match cargo profile
  • Lane-rate or trip-rate commercial structures with single-waybill POD
Part Truck Load

PTL — when the load is smaller than a truck

Multiple consignments, one optimised line-haul.

Regional distribution, smaller-format shipments and multi-stop networks where consolidating freight across consignors brings down per-ton cost.

  • Consolidation at branch hubs across the network
  • Predictable pickup and dispatch windows by lane
  • Right-sized 10- and 14-tyre vehicles for distribution legs
  • Per-package and per-ton commercial models
  • Branch-to-branch tracking with consignment-level POD

Fleet

Four headline truck categories, 9 to 42 tons across the fleet.

Every BKT load runs on the right-sized iron for the lane. Multi-axle long-haulers move primary freight between manufacturing belts and ports; mid-range and lighter vehicles handle distribution into regional warehouses and city pairs.

42 tons

18-Tyre Container

Heavy-duty multi-axle containers built for long-distance lanes between ports, manufacturing belts and consumption hubs.

Best for · Long-haul, high-volume

35 tons

16-Tyre Container

Workhorse for steel, polymers and industrial inputs that need consistent capacity on national-permit routes.

Best for · Heavy industrial cargo

30 tons

14-Tyre Container

A flexible mid-range truck for FMCG primary movement and steel coils on regional corridors.

Best for · Bulk FMCG / steel

18 tons

10-Tyre Container

Nimble for Rapid distribution runs, last-leg replenishment and city-pair shuttles.

Best for · Rapid distribution

Payload range
9 – 42 tons
Vehicle dimensions
17 – 42 ft
Body types
Closed containers · Open trailers

Lighter distribution vehicles below the 18-ton class are deployed for smaller consignments and city-pair shuttles where the four headline categories are oversized.

Beyond FTL

Three more services that ride on the same network.

The FTL fleet is the headline product, but it isn't the whole offering. Branches across the country also handle smaller consignments, warehousing and out-of-gauge freight.

Parcel booking

Door-to-door, when the load is smaller than a truck.

Cost-effective parcel service with door-to-door pickup and delivery, ideal for clients who don't have a full truck load every time. Currently operated from Delhi and NCR to the whole of Maharashtra and parts of Karnataka.

Warehousing

More than 2 lakh sq.ft of covered space.

Cost-effective warehousing across multiple parts of the country, totalling more than 2 lakh sq.ft of covered area today. Best suited for clients distributing from multiple sites. Upcoming projects: 55,000 sq.ft in Barota, Sonipat and 13 lakh sq.ft in Lohari, Jhajjar.

ODC movement

Any shape, any size, any volume.

Full Over-Dimensional Cargo arrangements regardless of the consignment's shape, size or volume — moved on flatbed and low-bed trailers, supported by route surveys, statutory permits and pilot vehicles where the corridor demands it.
